Sixth Surprise by Mary Abshire

I went for a bit of the Paranormal for my latest read with Mary Abshire's Sixth Surprise. As a fan of this author, there was no surprise that I enjoyed the book!

Momma Says 5 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Sixth Surprise is written in third person POV and if you read this series, you already know it's a continuing story. It fits well into the Paranormal Romance genre, as well as the Mystery & Suspense categories. The steam level has gradually increased throughout the series and there are adult situations, so certainly 18+ recommendation. Each book has our characters searching for a different demon and Abshire always gives us a hint on the cover as to the demon's profession. Can you guess this one?

It's been a crazy few months for Andrew and Emily, running around the country to find and kill demons. With things heating up between them, Andrew was hoping for a bit of one on one time and to be able to enjoy just being together. Of course, that's when a new player in the game shows up to mess things up for our couple.

Steven is arrogant and sure of himself, and not at all what you'd expect as an emissary from Heaven. With his bad boy ways and bit of a British accent, he's actually a character I would've liked if it weren't for his reason for being there. (You'll have to read the book to find that out😉)

So far, in the Heaven Sent series, we've had demons from across the board - everything from a nurse, to a lawyer, and even a policeman. This sixth demon, is the creepiest one yet, in my opinion. We don't get a lot of concrete details on what he's done, but considering who he is and the hints along the way, it adds to creep factor.

Of course, things get complicated and it's a race to destroy the demon and get Steven out of their lives. With some twists along the way, things may not work out exactly as Andrew and Emily plan. (You'll have to read the book to find out what those twists are too!)

Overall, Sixth Surprise is a fast-paced, exciting read. If you haven't read the series, Abshire does give a small amount of recap and you can easily follow what's going on in this book. However, I would strongly recommend reading this series from the start. Andrew and Emily's adventures are exciting and gripping from the very beginning and you don't want to miss any of it.
