Momma Says: 5 out of 5 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hush Little Baby is wonderfully written in first person POV from the perspective of our heroine, Detective London McKenna. It fits very well into the Thriller/Suspense genre with its gripping and suspenseful storyline. The story does address some dark subjects, so I would recommend adult audiences.

Hush little baby...
Don't say a word.
An abandoned newborn baby is found in a grocery store bathroom, swaddled only in paper towels and left with a note. I couldn’t let them take her.
Detective London McKenna takes the case, desperate to find the cold-hearted mother who left her child to die. But the terrified teenage girl wasn’t trying to harm her baby. Leaving the infant was the only way to save them both.
As London investigates the girl's scandalous claims of abuse, a case of criminal neglect becomes a dangerous and heinous conspiracy.
A corrupt judge is trafficking women with criminal records to his rich and powerful allies.
The closer London gets to the truth, the more secrets are kept with blood. The conspiracy implicates influential and respected men who will do anything to avoid discovery.
Uncovering the truth will not only ruin her career…
It might also end her life.

It goes without saying that this is an emotional tale. Anytime a story starts with a baby - an abandoned baby, no less - you can expect to have your heartstrings pulled. This one did that in spades!
Hush Little Baby is the second book in the Detective London McKenna series and like the first book, it's a gripping tale full of suspense and heart-stopping action. It's an edge of your seat thriller that I found impossible to put down as London gets deeper and deeper into her case to save a group of teenage girls from unspeakable terrors.
With her past, London is uniquely qualified to hunt down the monsters of society and she risks everything, including her own life, as she digs deeper and deeper into this horrifying case. Add in the personal side of London's life, including her relationship with James and their interactions and you have a well-rounded tale with such rich and developed characters that you feel like you know them. When you find yourself smiling at the sweet things that James says to London, chuckling at the barbs between her and her fellow detectives, and holding your breath when she's racing against the clock to save a life, you can say without hesitation that the author has done her job and done it well.
Alex Gates has proven just how talented she is with this second book in the series and that Girls in White Dresses wasn't just a one-off. The London McKenna series is one that I would highly recommend to anyone who enjoys the genre, and one that I hope to see much more of.
Hush Little Baby is available on Amazon and is listed in Kindle Unlimited.
