✱✱ Book Review ✱✱ Eligible Receiver: by Angel Lovecox

It's been a long week here in Mommaland, and it's only Wednesday! With allergies kickin' my butt, I decided to have a lazy day and curl up with my coffee and a book. It is hump day, after all, so this morning's choice was Eligible Receiver by Angel Lovecox. It is the newest addition to her Bareback University series, and if you've read this author's work, you'll understand the hump day reference. 😏

Momma Says: 4 out 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Eligible Receiver is well written in third person POV from the perspective of main character, Carter. It is a first time gay romance and while the steam isn't over the top, it is high enough that I would recommend 18+ readers.

Tight ends, out on the field...

Carter Williamson can’t stand sports. Ultra-dedicated to his future in political science, he’s got no time for obnoxious fans, bimbo groupies or egomaniacal players.

But opinions can change, and after being dragged to an NFL game by his Physical Therapist brother, Carter can’t help but admit that there’s something special about star player Isaiah Mitchell—namely that his pants feel a lot tighter whenever he gets within ten feet of Isaiah’s tall, well-muscled body.

The attraction seems mutual, but how can the pair get a fair play with Isaiah being the poster-boy within a notoriously homophobic sport? Carter isn’t willing to live life in secret forever, but can Isaiah risk his entire future on a hot college kid he’s only just met?

Angel Lovecox's newest addition to the Bareback University series is a novella length, fun read. It is instant attraction and pretty darn quick love, but that's to be expected, considering its length. That aside, the character's are likable and Isaiah and Carter are so cute together, especially with Carter being so timid and unsure of himself. The angst level on this one is pretty low and straight-forward. Isaiah is a popular football player, a sport loaded with Alpha males, so of course, coming out would be a problem. The book's fast pace has the issue resolved quickly, making for a light, happy read that leaves you with a smile.
