✱✱ Book Review ✱✱ Trapped by Lucy Wild

Sweet dreams were sure to be had with last night's bedtime read - Lucy Wild's latest Wild Quickie, Trapped, with its sexy and stoic mountain man.

It's going to be a rough night...

Sweet and innocent and lost in the woods. It sounds like the start of a fairy tale.
But Ash Carson is no knight in shining armour.

He brought me to his tumbledown cabin deep in the forest and now he won't let me leave, refusing point blank to open the door until the blizzard dies down.
He might be the most handsome man I've ever met and my only hope of survival but he's also infuriatingly stubborn and what's worse, he won't stop staring at me with that hunger in his eyes.
I know what his look means and I'm so scared, I can hardly move.

He's just given me two options, leave or stay.
If I leave, I'll freeze to death. If I stay?
Well, he's warned me what will happen if I stay.
He won't listen to reason, he won't argue.
He wants my innocence and he's going to take it.

The most shocking thing about all of this? I want to let him.

Momma Says: 4 out 5 stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐

Two people, one tortured by guilt and the other just trying to find her independence, a raging snow storm on a mountain top, and impassable roads. All of these combine to create an extreme situation and human nature takes over.
While I usually prefer a longer, more in depth read, I have to say that the author certainly knows her stuff when it comes to conveying emotion. Wild sets the scene quite well and Ash's tortured soul pulls at the heartstrings, even with his less than chatty personality. Isobel is young and looking to find her way in life without her judgmental parents. She's stuck between a rock and a hard place when Ash finds her - afraid of the man of few words and afraid of being stuck on the mountain alone. Naturally, when these two give in to their baser instincts, it's hot enough to melt the snow that threw them together.
Trapped is a quick read and we certainly get the lion's share of instalust, but I love that the author gives us some closure with our instant gratification with an epilogue that lets us take a peek at this pair's not too distant future. The story is entertaining and perfect for a short, bedtime read that's sure to inspire some sexy, mountain man dreams.
