This boisterously merry novella is just what I needed during the hectic holiday season. As a cat owner who is pretty sure they're smarter than me most times, Mayhem Under the Mistletoe was right up my alley. The characters are fun and likable, the story is engaging, and the dialogue is witty and often, outright hilarious. This one isn't a hearts and flowers, sweet as sugar romance. Instead, it's a fast-paced tale of flirtation, attraction, a bit of misdirection, and passion. It's low on angst and high on laughs and heat.
I'm picky when it comes to romantic comedy - a chuckle here and there doesn't cut it. That wasn't a problem with this one. Hendrix and Ophelia kept me smiling and laughing page after page. Add to that the well-timed antics of a very determined feline and this one's a holiday must read. I can't wait to see what Beau/Austin has in store for Valentine's Day!
