Wild West Weekend
Double D Ranch Tales Book 1
by C. R. Moss & R.M. Sotera
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Two people scared to love again. Two others hesitant about commitment. A weekend in Nevada will change all that.

Bristol Ashcombe is swearing off men and taking a vacation with her friend, Cassie. Damon Dougan is packed and ready to leave the ranch for a trip, that is, until a long-legged, sexy woman steps out of a vehicle and he decides to stay. Will one sex filled weekend be enough for either of them?

Cassie Harding travels to the Double D ranch, to meet Bristol and looks forward to seeing her old friend, Dakota. Dak’s excited when Cassie, his former sweetheart, returns. Cassie and Dakota, though they’re heating up ‘the sheets’ in and out of the bedroom, have fears about commitment after years of being single. Will they find it’s better to dance together than apart?

Wild West Weekend—Double D Ranch Tales (Book 1), a contemporary, chick-lit, erotic romance story set in Nevada.

Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐

Wild West Weekend is actually two stories broken up into parts and running concurrently. Part one gives us Damon and Bristol. This pair gives us a bit of fun as they butt heads from the start. I loved Damon's laid back nature and there is good chemistry between him and Bristol, even when the sparks are flying between them. The story is very fast-paced and I have to say that Part One did leave me hanging a bit - there's hope, but I was worried about what would be next.
Then we move right into Part Two with Dakota and Cassie. This pair has some history but hadn't seen each other in years. Cassie has a dark past and isn't sure how much Dakota will accept. I was a little confused about a mysterious stranger in town that seems to just fizzle out, but other than that, their romance was definitely the more realistic of the two.
Finally, we get to the epilogue and the worries I had about Bristol and Damon are laid to rest. I love how things were brought together for both couples and on the whole, both stories were entertaining and sexy with a few chuckles along the way.

He shifted, moved out of the tub and knelt next to it. Holding up a washcloth, he instructed her to sit back.
She reclined again, closed her eyes. Slow and steady, the material caressed her shoulders, her neck, skimmed down to her chest. With gentle movements, he washed her body, always making sure, much to her chagrin, only cloth touched her skin. The fabric, under his strong competent hand, danced along her chest, down and around her legs, graced her crotch. Her nipples hardened with desire, peaked in the water. She arched her back.
A low, seductive chuckle rolled from him. “Impatient, my dear?”
Through half-open eyelids, she gazed at him. She wanted him with an intensity that shocked her. The desire wasn’t just for the sex either. It was for the connection that would occur, the joining of their emotions, the merging of their souls while they loved and created a beautiful bond between them. “Why, yes, I am.” Cassie reached out and ran the palm of her hand down the mid-line of his chest.
Dak grasped her hand, kissed the backs of her fingers. “What about your hair?”
“Already washed today.” She slid her gaze down to his sexy lips. A tiny sigh escaped her. Before she could take her next breath, he clasped the back of her head, claimed her lips with his own.
His free hand slipped into the water and fondled her breast as his lips moved sensuously upon hers. She reached up, took his head in her hands and threaded her fingers in his silky hair. Their tongues warred and sparred in ardent foreplay. She wished the tub wasn’t between them.
She pulled away, observed his darkened and hooded gaze fill with desire. As they stared into each other’s eyes, he massaged the back of her head while the other hand moved to the junction between her thighs. He stroked and tweaked her clit, slid a finger within her slit. Her mind whirred with passion. She moaned and writhed as he brought her to the edge of ecstasy and over the cliff. Her body tensed, vibrated with release.
Her breath caught in her throat. No man had ever done what he had. None had ever watched her with such rapture, looked at her with such devotion, while she came. He cupped her face, pecked her forehead with a kiss.
“God, Catherine, you’re beautiful. I want to make love to you, cherish you, treat you like a goddess. I want this experience to be different than what you’re used to, no domination or submission or kinky role playing. Just two people loving each other. Can you handle that?”

Wild West Hauntings
Double D Ranch Tales Book 2

In life and the afterlife, on the Double D Ranch one belief holds true—the power of love changes lives.

With cowboys, ghosts, modern day women, hot dreams, pre-wedding relations and a bit of sexy time travel, life promises to be one wild time on the ranch again.

Rachel Star has met the man of her dreams … literally. Too bad he’s a ghost. When true love crosses boundaries from dreams to reality and across time, the Double D ranch is the place it happens. It takes the love of a man from the past, Dalton Dougan, to bring love full circle in the present for Rachel.

Bristol Ashcombe, soon to be Dougan, is ready to have her baby … and so is a poltergeist. Can the love of a woman for her man and child sustain her during the most horrible of terrors? Can the love between family and friends really dispel the evil haunting them?

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

A bit of new romance, some misunderstanding in a continuing relationship, a couple of hauntings, some steamy fun, a wedding, and a baby on the way. What could possibly go wrong?
This one starts out a little slow, but it builds quickly and doesn't let up. A few things about the story were a bit over the top, but it all worked for the supernatural aspect, especially the scenes between Rachel and Dalton - loved so much about those parts. The characters were interesting and most were so likable. Except Marianne, who has been antagonistic from the start. I didn't like her in Wild West Weekend and still don't. She seems to be there merely to muddy the waters. Other than that one highly annoying character, I quite enjoyed the story.

“I guess you don’t mind?” she inquired, just to be safe.
“Not at all,” he drawled in his sexy voice.
“Good.” His cock was full and heavy on her palm. She flicked her tongue over its slit again, wrapped her lips around the thick tip. Stroking its base with one hand, she caressed his thigh with the other.
A long moan sounded above her. Fingers threaded through her hair. His hips thrust toward her, and she edged him in even deeper. Rachel bobbed her head up and down, licking, sucking, enticing him.
“Ah, darlin’ Rae, you ignite my passion.” Dalton slid out of her mouth.
“Why’d you stop me? Didn’t you enjoy it?”
“I enjoyed it just fine.” He slid his hand over her hair, knelt down in front of her. “I love you. I want to feel you encompass me. I want to hear my name whispered in lust and desire from your lips.” He kissed her forehead, gazed into her eyes. “Well, I will pray to God on high that thou my constancy mayst see,” Dalton quoted lyrics from Greensleeves, “And that yet once before I die, thou wilt vouchsafe to love me.”
The universe condensed between them to one solid moment in time. Her counterpart blossomed under his loving gaze, returned his sentiments a hundredfold and then some. All the scientific beliefs and presumptions she’d held about life, love and the great cosmos were overridden.
Rae accepted her connection with Dalton with total faith. Rachel decided she should, too. She no longer needed theories, experiments and hypotheses to rationalize the bond she and Dalton shared across the ages. Through her Wild West counterpart, she experienced a devotion she never thought she would. The man who stood before her was the love of Rae’s life, of hers. Her heart belonged to Dalton as much as his heart was hers.
This is what the poets and lovers meant when they spoke of enduring love, forever and eternity.
Dalton was hers for all time, just as she was his. The primal axiom comforted her. She was loved, and she loved, forever and always. Wasn’t that what life was all about anyway?
A tap on her shoulder jarred the moment between her and Dalton and brought her crashing back to present day. Jumping from the shock of where she’d been and the sudden loss of what she’d been feeling, tears sprung to her eyes. She spun to face the interrupter.
“Are you all right, Rachel?” Miguel’s long-lashed gaze stared at her with concern.
“I… I don’t know.” She shuffled to a couch and plopped down. Off balance and unsure what to believe anymore, she surveyed the room. I probably appear like I’m looking at the place for the first time and confused to boot. Not far from the truth either.
Marianne rushed to sit by her side. “Oh my God, Rachel. You had another episode, didn’t you?”
Rachel couldn’t find the words to explain the situation—the feelings and epiphany she’d had. She nodded.
“It was crazy,” her sister continued. “You just stood there. You didn’t say anything, didn’t move, didn’t respond to any of us. You scared the living daylights out of me.” She swept out her arm. “Of all of us.”
“Sorry. I don’t… I don’t quite know what happened.”
The doors flew open, and Cassie came running in. She cradled books in her arms. “I figured out where I know you from.” She occupied the empty space next to her. “Look at this.” Cassie opened what turned out to be a leather-bound photo album and pointed to an old brown-gray picture.
Rachel’s stomach clenched around what felt like a rock.
“Doesn’t it look like you?” Cassie inquired with an excited voice.
Afraid to admit it out loud, Rachel bobbed her head once. The woman looking up at her from the page was the same one she’d seen in the mirror.

Past experiences war with ideas for the future, but can the pair make promises they can keep?

Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐

A fast-paced steamy romance. This third Double D Ranch tale is easily read in less than an hour, making it perfect for a quick bedtime read that will leave you with a smile and some sexy dreams. The romance moves fast, but this pair does have good chemistry, and we even get a hint at some possible trouble in the future for the family and friends that live on the ranch. Once again with this series, the characters are interesting and while not everything is resolved, our couple does get a happy for now ending.

“Feisty is good for the soul.” She made sure to lock gazes with him after the words left her throat.
And finally, something she’d tried worked. Kind of. He stared at her, the amber in his brown eyes sparkling with untold secrets. A flutter started in her stomach, then fanned out through her entire body. She ached to wrap her arms around him and kiss his lips. But she wouldn’t because, other than the passion in his gaze, the tell-tale signs that he thought of her in a sexual way were non-existent at the moment.
Stubborn man. Still running hot and cold. I’ll have to rethink what I need to do to snag him.
Resigned to enjoy their excursion as just a friendly gesture on his part, she sighed and moved to the back of the cave to survey the other goodies.
A section of bottled water and a variety of other drinks caught her attention. Before she could open her mouth and comment, strong arms wrapped her body from behind silencing her mind and voice.
“I struggled last night, and I’ve fought my feelings all morning to keep my hands off you,” his deep voice murmured against her ear. He pressed his pelvic region against her ass. “And as you may notice, I’m losin’ the fight.”
She smoothed her hands over his. Soft and supple they were not. Kent’s palms and fingers held weathered signs of a man who worked the land. She wanted them touching her, all over her body. She wanted the hard cock pressing against her back out of his jeans and sliding in and out of her pussy. Squeezing his hands sent his lips against her ear followed by a sweet lingering kiss.
“Maggie…I can’t give you what you probably want…a relationship…but I can give you what you need.”
Still snug in his arms, she half turned. “How do you know what I want?”
“Doesn’t every woman want more than one moment? I’m really starting to like you, and the last thing I want to do is hurt you. Thing is, I’m not a relationship kinda guy.”
Honestly, she didn’t want or need forever, especially after the way she’d been treated in her marriage and put through hell five years ago during her divorce. On top of that, she’d endured one disastrous affair after another when she entered the dating world. She just wanted right now. The urge to feel desired, revered and break her multi-month dry spell propelled her. The warmth running through her body intensified at the thought of him making love to her.
Finishing the turn, she faced him. “I promise the only concern on my mind, my only want today, is to have you screaming my name with passion within the hour.”
