Major Jamil Jarka comes to the temple with one intention—heal his wounds so he can return to the fight against the rebellion. When the monk assigned to him turns out to be stunningly attractive, he sees this as a pleasant distraction, no more. But soon he finds himself becoming obsessed with M'lan and is torn between the fear of betrayal and the lure of love.
Sinister forces strive to turn the monk and the warrior against each other—a conflict neither will survive if they cannot trust their lives to love and the healing power of Salar.

Genre: Fantasy, MM Romance
BLURB
In the kingdom of Jahar, the rule of mages has been overthrown. Prince Dezra Luzan is being held prisoner in the ancestral palace. In order to stay alive, he pretends to be a drug-addicted wastrel, trusting no one, not even his lovers. Into his lonely existence comes a man who should be his sworn enemy; Captain Rayn Nevar. Dezra is irresistibly drawn to the rough soldier and his longing for a simple sexual encounter quickly builds into a dangerous obsession.
Captain Rayn Nevar knows he should stay away from Prince Dezra, but his desire for the beautiful young man overrides all common sense. Rayn soon finds himself protecting the prince from a plot to destroy the last of the mages. When treachery leads to Dezra's escape, he is at last free to unlock his long repressed powers. Only the arrival of a mysterious monk with powers greater than Dezra's stops the prince from using sorcery to destroy all who stand in his way, including Rayn.
As Jahar edges toward another war between masters and mages, Rayn must question his devotion to his increasingly deadly lover while Dezra must decide if ultimate power is worth the ultimate sacrifice.

EXCLUSIVE EXCERPT from Curse of Salar
“You have no belief in the power of mages?” Dezra asked. He searched the captain’s face as Nevar folded the scroll in half, crumpling it in his powerful hands. He looked up at Dezra through a veil of thick lashes, and Dezra thought he detected the tiniest spark of hesitation.
“I’ve seen sorcery at work, but no, I do not believe black-magic trickery is divinely inspired. People like your great-grandmother used a mastery of simple spells to enthrall her followers and build up a reputation for magical abilities far outstripping any sort of reality.”
An urge to leap up and retrieve Janak’s book from its hiding place swept through Dezra. How he longed to show the captain the true powers of his ancestors. To make him believe. But if this was indeed a trap, such an action would be remarkably stupid and exactly what Skala hoped for. He took a deep breath and let go another bit of his pride.
“I suppose you’re correct. I myself don’t even know one simple spell.”
“You’re better off. Sorcery corrupts.” Nevar looked at the paper in his hands. “Shall we burn this?”
“Yes. After my attendants check on me.”
Lashmi approached silently out of Dezra’s quarters with another carafe of wine and was visibly surprised to see they’d barely touched the first. Dezra wasn’t keeping up his reputation of being a lush. The captain’s presence threw him off balance and endangered everything about Dezra’s carefully constructed lie of a life. Dezra couldn’t deny that was a large part of the captain’s appeal.
“We desire nothing more,” he said to Lashmi. “You may sleep.” Dezra picked up his cup and took a large swallow. Lashmi left without a word. Now they had to wait for the guards to come and inspect the courtyard.
“You don’t want me to leave?” Nevar asked. “After my terrible breach of the house rules?”
“I believe you when you say you didn’t know. And besides, even if you did, I’m used to such plots and trickery. We can overlook this incident and attempt to enjoy each other’s company.”
Nevar chuckled even as sadness clouded his eyes. Dezra suspected pity, and it set his teeth on edge.
“I regret having created another barrier between us,” Nevar said. “It’s hard enough to achieve any sort of intimacy in this world of liars and fools.”
The man baits me with talk of battles and then speaks of intimacy. Dezra placed his hands flat on the table in front of him in a stiff manner, making it clear he only awaited one wrong word to push up to his feet and dismiss the captain from his presence. Arguments in favor of this move raged in his head until Nevar reached out and grasped one of Dezra’s hands, gently stroking the fingers. Prickles ran along Dezra’s scalp, down his spine, and into his core, sparking the fire that smoldered within. Whispers of suspicion faded beneath a hot white buzz of confusion.
Nevar, the master manipulator. Dezra could appreciate that. There was no reason their sexual appetites could not be satisfied merely because they were political enemies. Dezra met the captain’s gaze, and the same searing passion he’d experienced in the throne room seized him once again.
