The Darling is a bit of a mixed bag of romance tropes. We get a touch of taboo with Ryan and Rachel having been step-siblings years before. They had feelings then that weren't explored, so it's a little like a second chance romance in that aspect. There's the hockey angle which gives us the sports romance. And then we have Jason in the mix, literally, giving us the oh, so steamy menage. I never really understood Jason's part in the story, but I loved his laid back attitude and he certainly contributed to the steamy fun. While the steam is through the roof, the angst is not, making this one a quick, sexy read that's leaves you with a smile.
