Crooked Tree Ranch (Montana #1)
The Cowboy and the City Slicker.
On the spur of the moment, with his life collapsing around him, Jay Sullivan answers an ad for a business manager with an expertise in marketing, on a dude ranch in Montana.
With his sister, Ashley, niece, Kirsten and nephew, Josh, in tow, he moves lock stock and barrel from New York to Montana to start a new life on Crooked Tree Ranch.
Foreman and part owner of the ranch, ex rodeo star Nathaniel 'Nate' Todd has been running the dude ranch, for five years ever since his mentor Marcus Allen became ill.
His brothers convince him that he needs to get an expert in to help the business grow. He knows things have to change and but when the new guy turns up, with a troubled family in tow - he just isn't prepared for how much.

New York meets Montana and the sparks fly. This first book in the Montana series is a bit of a slow build, introducing the characters, life on the ranch, etc. In fact, it takes a while before Jay and Nate actually meet, so for me, this one served more as an intro to the series than a full-blown romance. Don't get me wrong, there is a love story here, and Jay and Nate are good together. However, their story seems almost secondary to the one about the ranch and what needs to be done to make it a profitable business. We also have a bit of a mystery concerning Marcus and his son that is brought up but left open - something I'm assuming will be addressed as the series progresses. Once the romance between Nate and Jay starts, it is full of fireworks and things happen pretty fast. For me, that was the biggest drawback. It just felt a little too fast after the slow build on the story. That said, the book is full of rich and colorful characters and the writing style drew me in, making me want to know more about them. Plus, we have some sexy cowboys, a steamy romance, and a couple of open storylines to look for in the next book. All in all, it's a promising start to the series.
The Rancher's Son (Montana #2)
When he wakes up in the hospital, the victim of a brutal beating, John Doe has no memories of who he is or who hurt him. The cops can find nothing to identify him and he can't remember anything to help... except the name Ethan and one recurring place from his dreams. Two words, and they're not much, but it's a start: Crooked Tree.
Detective Ethan Allens has never stopped searching for the two boys who vanished. When a report lands on Ethan's desk that may give new leads, he jumps at the chance to follow them up. The man he finds isn't his brother, but it's someone who could maybe help him discover what happened twelve years ago.
What neither man can know is that facing the very real demons of the past could destroy any kind of future they may have together.

The mystery ramps up in this one as Ethan brings one lost boy home - a lost boy with no memory of who he is or where he's been. We do get some answers, but many create more questions. As Ethan and those he trusts scramble for answers, the tension builds. In the end, the bulk of the mystery remains just that, a mystery, and I'm still on the fence about the few answers we're given. It's a little too far over the top for me, but it's certainly something to think about. The thing that sets this series apart for me lays with the characters. Their personalities, their reactions, their emotions - they all feel so real, and we see all of that with Adam and Ethan as they rekindle an old flame. This pair is just so sweet together that you can't help but root for them. Even with the mystery, this is very much Ethan and Adam's love story. It's a bit of slow build and they're both absolutely lovable. In the end, the romance left me with a smile, and the mystery has me intrigued about what's to come.
A Cowboy's Home (Montana #3)
One burned and broken man finds his way home. Can he find peace in the arms of a man easy to love?
Justin made the ultimate sacrifice for his country, battling domestic terrorism, never the man he really was, using hate to avenge the death of his best friend. The friend he'd killed.
What he doesn’t count on is getting shot, and if he's going to die he wants it to be on Crooked Tree soil. Home.
Sam is as much a part of Crooked Tree as any of the families, and the offer to buy into the ranch is a dream come true. But falling for a hidden, secretive, injured man isn’t the way to keep his head in the game.

A Cowboy's Home gives us Justin's story and the answers about where he's been and what led to his disappearance. Those answers are a bit over the top and while I did struggle with the believeability, this is fiction, so some allowances can be made. It did make for an interesting storyline. I was a little disappointed in the romance side of this one. I've loved the flirty Sam and his first appearance in the series, so I was looking forward to seeing him get his happy ending. However, these two absolutely frustrated the daylights out of me. Some of it was necessary for the story, but they spent a lot of time skirting around the attraction. Then, they go from zero to sixty and are all about being in love. In the end, I did enjoy the tension and suspense of the story, but I felt like the romance took a backseat with a rush at the end to tie it up and bring these two together. I would've liked to have seen their romance given the time these great characters deserved.

Snow In Montana (Montana #4)
An actor in the closet, a sheriff in love, and memories that won’t stay hidden.Jordan Darby is known as the King of Christmas. The star of eight made-for-TV Christmas movies, the leading man who always gets his girl. Filming at Crooked Tree Ranch in Montana, in the ice and snow, Jordan is fighting to make a go of his new company and dealing with fears of exposure over one huge secret. After all, who the hell would buy into him being a romantic straight lead if rumors about him being gay were proven to be true?
Sheriff Ryan Carter is advising on the new movie being made at Crooked Tree. He hoped this would be one day of work and nothing more. Until, that is, he meets the hero. But while Jordan is sexy, he’s also very much stuck in the closet—everything that Ryan doesn’t need in his life. And then lust becomes part of the equation, and Ryan’s quiet life is thrown into turmoil.
Their story unfolds against the chaos that overtakes the ranch, with Adam regaining memories that terrify him and make him look at Justin differently, and Justin leaving the ranch to make things right. Only through trusting in love and friendship can Justin and Adam learn to look to the future instead of letting the past destroy everything. But will they ever see clearly enough to do that?
Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐
This fourth book in the series is full of romance and resolutions. We get a bit of all the great characters as they come together to help Adam and Justin, and we get lots of the budding romance between Ryan and Jordan. There is a lot going on, but it doesn't take away from the love story, and the angst level is relatively low, especially with everything that's happened throughout the series. All in all, this one is an engaging story full of love, family, and friendship and brings it all together for a happy for now conclusion.
