The Good Friend
by Jo Baldwin
If only she knew what sort of friend I really am . . .
Once upon a time, Jenny and Kath were best friends. Or were they?
Their reunion after eight years apart – when Jenny pays a visit from Australia where she’s settled – begins as idyllic. But all too soon, things begin to unravel and once the past is uncovered, there’s no going back.
This beautifully written, gripping and unforgettable psychological drama about love, lies and obsession will keep you reading long in to the night.
Keep your friends close, but your best friends closer
Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐
I ended up with mixed feelings about The Good Friend, mainly because I never quite warmed up to any of the characters. Our antagonist is clear from very early on, but I can't say that I found the other two main players in this game likable either. The story does have its moments, but they are few and far between, and the rest was just too easy to set aside for something else. The most interesting part of the book took place at the very end when things did really start to happen, and I have to say that there was a good twist, which is the only reason for my third star. In the end, this one was just fair to midland, and even with that interesting twist, it just didn't quite live up to expectations.
