✱✱Book Review✱✱ THE BONE FARM by Andrew Jackson

THE BONE FARM
A Dan Harpur Adventure
by Andrew Jackson

A man on the edge. A woman on a mission. A species on the edge of extinction.

Organised criminals are smuggling tiger bone out of China to feed an insatiable black market. They will stop at nothing to dominate a growing trade where profit margins dwarf those of narcotics, with little penalty. They have only one problem – they can’t get enough of it.

Following the murder of his friend, former soldier Daniel Harpur is on the warpath. A small bag of white powder and a Chinese gangster with a dragon tattoo are his only leads. He has vowed revenge, but first he must overcome his own personal demons.

The Wildlife Investigation Agency, charged with protecting endangered animals and their habitats, are on the trail of an infamous poacher who is decimating the wild tiger population. But red tape and bureaucracy thwart their every move.

Both Harpur and the WIA want justice. Just in different ways.....

An action-packed and gripping novel highlighting the lucrative illegal trade in wildlife and the plight of tigers – one of the world’s most iconic and beautiful creatures.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

The Bone Farm has a varied cast of characters with one thing in common. They all have something to do with the illegal trade of wildlife, specifically tigers. Some are working diligently to stop the slaughter of so many tigers while some are working just as hard to line their pockets with the profit. Then there are those caught up and trying to find answers. The story is fast-paced and a fairly quick read with plenty of action and a few twists to keep us on our toes. This one read like a good action/adventure movie, and in all actuality it would probably do very nicely on the big screen. It would be bloody and quite violent, but our lonely hero, Dan, would translate well to film. There is a hint at romance for Dan, but it doesn't seem to pan out. Of course, this is just the first in the series, so there's still hope for him as the series progresses. All things considered, I did enjoy the read. It is emotional and sometimes hard to take with these beautiful creatures being hunted and treated so brutally, but it's a story that needs to be told even in fiction form.
