There are certain things I've come to expect when I pick up a Maya Hughes book, regardless of the trope. Wit and snark, terrific banter, swoony romance with a couple that is guaranteed to make me a little crazy at times, wonderfully quirky characters, including the secondary peeps, and even a tear or two when the feels get crazy. Well, let me tell you, she's brought her A-game with The Second We Met. Nix and Elle are the focus of this second book in the Fulton U series, and they check every box for an engaging romantic comedy and then some. Enemies-to-lovers is one my favorite romance tropes. I love watching a couple reach that tip-over point and start to fall for each other, and Nix and Elle are just so lovable that you can't help but root for them. If you're familiar with this author's books, then it's not hard to guess that we'll get a conclusion loaded with feels, one that will leave you with a smile and a warm feeling in your heart. But the real fun is in the journey, and this couple travels that road in style. To sum it up, The Second We Met is great addition to this series and another terrific romance from Maya Hughes.
