It’s not how we make mistakes, but how we correct them that defines us…

Karsyn Fallaway

Tucker didn’t stop my car as it drove away from his house that summer night, and the sting of rejection hasn't gone away.

Over a year has gone by, and I find myself looking for him in all the places he’d been before. It doesn’t help, he’s still an enigma I have yet to figure out.

My friends are the only thing holding me together. Work is the one thing keeping my mind busy. Until my life threatens to tear completely apart.

Tucker Williams

She drove away and my pride wouldn’t allow me to stop her. A year later, regret keeps me up at night, forcing me to replay the moment in my head.

Working with the K-9’s is the only thing keeping me going. Becoming close with the former MTF is a perk I hadn’t counted on.

When a child is kidnapped, all the hard feelings have to be put aside to save a life. Secrets are unearthed, and this time as Karsyn threatens to break, I know I’m the one to put her back together.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Tucker and Karsyn's story is the very definition of you don't know what you've got until it's gone, and Tucker is certainly regretting his commitment issues. This third book in the series is much like its predecessors - high on romance, and pretty low on angst. There is some, of course, and this one does hit on a tough subject, but Tucker is just the guy to see Karsyn through it all. This series of romances is all about the couples, so any danger or intrigue in the storyline is sure to somehow bring the couple closer together. So, the focus in this one is the love story between Tucker and Karsyn. That said, Enigma does have a bit more excitement and danger for the town than the earlier books, and as the author warns at the beginning, liberties are taken to further the story. So, I would say to enjoy it for what it is - a solid romance that you can escape into without worrying about reality. I know I did, and I loved Tucker and Karsyn.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

Laramie Briscoe writes the best book boyfriends. I mean, seriously - Ransom is fantastic. He's all alpha male when he needs to be, and he's all teddy bear when that's required. And he and Stella are so good together. The story is a low-angst, feel-good read for the most part. There is some excitement and danger, but the focus is on Ransom and Stella. This is one of those books that you can't read without smiling and doing a fair bit of swooning. There are a lot of characters from the Moonshine Taskforce, and the author provides some info in the front of the book to give new readers some background. That said, this one does stand alone, and it's easy to figure out the various ties to other characters in the story. All in all, Ransom is a quick, entertaining romance with a sweet and sexy couple and some great secondary characters to look forward to as the series progresses.

Momma Says: 4 stars⭐⭐⭐⭐

This second book in the Laurel Springs Emergency Response Team series is more emotional than the first, and this couple's chemistry is a little slower than Ransom and Stella's. Nick and Kelsea are just as good together, but their romance moves at a different pace. Most of that is due to Nick's past and his issues with trusting people. That said, Nick is one of my favorite types of leading man. He's a little grumpy, a little more serious, and a lot broken. He's also a complete sweetheart when he lets people in. Nick and Kelsea are good together, and his protective side shows even before he's willing to admit how he feels. This series centers around a group of police officers, but it's more about their hearts than their jobs, and it's also more about a bit of romance escapism than reality. Don't get me wrong, there are some tricky situations for these guys, and for Nick, there are some heartwrenching ones as well, but the focus is the romance. We also get a sweet little guy that definitely needs a good home and lots of love and support. The story is a fairly quick read, but it's packed full of great characters, and a couple you can't help but root for. And I'll tell ya, if the end of this one doesn't give you a warm feeling clear down to your toes, then you need to go back and reread it because you missed something.
