Humor, fated mates, a bit of danger - oh, and a dragon! Yep, a sexy dragon with a sharp wit and flair for sarcasm. Basically, Z has all my favorite traits, including the dragon. Then, when you add in a fated mate who certainly holds her own with him, it's a thoroughly entertaining read.

The setting is a mix of this world and a paranormal dimension. Normally, I don't care for the whole other dimension setting, but Xavier Neal has done a terrific job of creating a world that's easy to picture. The differences are there, but it's just similar enough to be familiar. Well, except for all the magical and paranormal creatures - shifters, genies, elves, mer people... The list goes one, and the possibilities for this world are endless.

So, we have fated mates with loads of chemistry, some steamy goodness, a bit of danger and excitement, and humor and snark to round everything out. Saving Silver is the first book in this new series, and it's definitely starting out with a bang. I read it in one sitting, which has it's positives and negatives for me - it's engaging and hard to put down, but reading it so quickly leaves me anxious for book 2 and the next set of fated mates.
