Man Hunt is a fun start to the On a Manhunt series by Vanessa Vale, and it has more than one of my favorite romance tropes included - small town, a bit of an age gap, protective alpha male, and nerdy heroine, just to name a few. Maverick and Bridget are such a fun couple. Maverick is all alpha male to Bridget's introverted, shy nerdy girl, and they have great chemistry together. The story is mostly about the chemistry and how Maverick makes Bridget feel as he brings her out of her shell. It does rely on a bit of miscommunication, or I guess that would be a lack of communication for the conflict, but the story is mostly just great sexy fun, so the angst is short-lived. I listened to this one, and while I usually prefer at least dual narration, Kylie Stewart does a good job with all the back-and-forth between the characters. As series go, this is looking like a good one for a bit of escapism after a busy week, so I'm looking forward to listening to the next in line in the On a Manhunt series.
