We Will Reign
Wicked Boys of BCU, Book 1
By: Rachel Leigh
Narrated by: Stefanie Kay & Theo Sinclair
Enrolling at BCU was supposed to be my chance at freedom.
An escape from my parents who insist I follow in their footsteps as a Guardian of the Society. Keep the members safe—that's what I'm supposed to do. But how can I safeguard the students when I can't even protect myself?
Someone has been watching me. His eyes burn into my soul like a branding iron. At night, he haunts my dreams and transforms them into nightmares. Sometimes when I wake, he's there, standing at the foot of my bed in awe of my existence.
He isn't the one I fear most, though. Others have their eyes on me, too. Only their obsession runs deeper than Ridge's, and I fear if I fall under their thumbs, I won't make it out of here alive.
There once was a sicko who lurked in the mist.
He preyed on my soul baring a closed iron fist.
His stare made me itch while his eyes locked me under his spell.
But taking his hand may be my only escape from this hell.
We Will Reign is a dark college romance with mature content. Wicked Boys of BCU is a why-choose romance with a growing harem throughout the series.
Momma Says: 3 stars⭐⭐⭐
Full disclosure: We Will Reign is darker than anything I've read or listened to in some time. It's violent and shocking, and the whole secret society thing is kind of creepy. We have three guys, Ridge, Maddox, and Lev, and then we have Riley. To be honest, I'm really hoping that Riley grows on me in the next book because I'm having trouble picturing the RH dynamic with this group. To be more accurate, I'm having trouble figuring out what these guys see in Riley. She wouldn't be the first character I've had a problem with that I've grown to love as the story progresses, so we'll see. The guys have me somewhere in the middle, so for now, I'll reserve judgment and see how it goes in the next book. I do think Rachel Leigh has created an intriguing world, and I want to know more about this society. This is my first time reading or listening to a book by Rachel Leigh as well as my first time listening to narrators Stefanie Kay and Theo Sinclair. What I've found is as much as I'm left unsure about characters, I do like Leigh's writing style. The same goes for the narration. Both narrators do the darkness in this one very well, and they capture the emotion of the story.
So, don't let my waffling opinion sway you. If you're ready for some really dark romance, give this one a go. I'll be waiting for the next in the series to see how I feel about things.
