I shouldn't want my ex-wife's little sister, but I do. And turns out, she wants me, too...
Troy
There’s one person who pushes all my buttons… Lizzie. My former sister in law. My ex wife’s baby sister. Who was a freaking kid when Emma and I were married. But she’s not a kid anymore and my feelings for her aren’t brotherly. At all. And when I have to put her in handcuffs, upholding the law is the last thing on my mind.
Lizzie
The Sheriff. My former brother-in-law. I’ve done everything I could to get his attention other than march naked down Main Street and he only ever looks at me like I’m an annoyance All it took was being in the right place at the wrong time. And when he’s putting me in handcuffs and into the backseat of a cruiser, I catch a glimpse of the fire burning under the surface. He calls me a spoiled brat. And spoiled brats always get what they want.

I love the sparks between Troy and Lizzie! If you read the first book in the Bellehaven Hotties series, you met these characters. They weren't the stars of the show, but they were star-adjacent, so we got to learn a lot about them. With the way they butted heads, I fully expected their story to be full of fire, and Chasity Bowlin and Laramie Briscoe deliver. Troy and Lizzie have some history, and their romance touches on the forbidden, but darned if they aren't good together.
Like the first in the series, Locked Up One Night is a quick read, and this one has even less angst, so it's definitely an easy read. The chemistry is so good between this pair. Right from the start, I was rooting for them. I also liked getting to visit the couple from the first book, as well as so many of the secondary characters. So, it's like another trip to Bellehaven!
So, another quick, entertaining read in the series, and this pair definitely generates some steam. This book picks up right where the first left off, so I'd recommend reading the series in order to get the most out of it.

From USA Today Bestselling Authors, Chasity Bowlin and Laramie Briscoe, comes a brand new small town series full of spice, steam, and second chances.Cody
Bellehaven, KY was in my rearview as soon as I got my diploma and walked off the high-school stage. Fifteen years later, I don't expect to be back.
I sure don't expect to be seeing the woman I had a one-night stand with at our senior prom, or be coaching the same high-school basketball team I played for. The team that includes her son; a freshman.
Emma
From afar, I watched as Cody Willett became everything he said he would be. Famous, and a future NBA hall-of-famer–until an injury derailed his career. Now he’s the coach for my son's team. I'm keeping a secret though. One that's bound to destroy us from the inside out.
Not many are given a second chance, and we're bound to screw this up, but what if we don't? What if this is the happy ever after everyone wants and deserves? With a fear I've only felt once before, I'm reaching out with both hands, grabbing hold, and refusing to let go.

One Night Slam introduces us to the Bellehaven Hotties series by Chasity Bowlin and Laramie Briscoe. I'm pretty familiar with Laramie Briscoe's work, but Chasity Bowlin was new to me. That said, I'm always happy to read books by fellow Kentucky girls, and I really like what they did with this one.
The book is a quick read, easily finished in an afternoon curled up in my favorite chair. It's a mix of sports romance, small town romance, and there's even a touch of a second chance thrown in. I say a touch because Cody and Emma didn't really have a first chance, at least not much of one. I do like that all those old feelings were still there, waiting to be explored. The angst is minimal, making this one a lighthearted read for the most part - just what I needed this week. There's even a bit of gameplay in this basketball romance.
To sum it up, if you're looking for a quick, entertaining romance with some steamy goodness, One Night Slam is a good one to check out. I like the mix of writing styles that these authors bring to the story, and I like we'll be seeing the characters again as the series progresses.
