And we're back for book 2 in Piper Rayne's Plain Daisy Ranch series, and I'll just go ahead and say that Jude won me over pretty quickly. I love a grumpy teddy bear, so I was firmly in Jude's corner. Jude and Sadie have great chemistry in this friends-to-lovers marriage of convenience romance, which works really well for them. I did want to reach into this one and give both of them a good shake a few times - the miscommunication and/or lack of communication drove me a little crazy. That said, I still loved them both and found myself rooting for them even as they drove me to distraction.
Troy Duran and Rose Dioro add that something extra to this one with some terrific duet narration. Troy Duran has one of those voices that makes your heart rate speed up (or is that just me?), and Rose Dioro pulls off the sweet and sexy heroine that is Sadie perfectly.
So, we have a friends to lovers, marriage of convenience, small town romance with all the feels, Piper and Rayne's storytelling, and the perfect narrators for these characters.. It all comes together for a couple I'll definitely be visiting again and again.
